SC Magazine Awards Axway MailGate(R) "Outstanding" Five-Star Rating
PHOENIX, Sep 26, 2011 -- Axway, the Business Interaction Networks company, announced today SC Magazine awarded its Axway MailGate(R) email security solution a five-star overall rating in a recent round-up of email content management solutions, citing excellent built-in compliance and data leakage prevention capabilities.
SC Magazine, a leading publication for IT security professionals, compiled a group of email security products and rigorously evaluated them based on performance, ease of use, features, documentation, support and value for money. Axway MailGate was awarded the "outstanding" five-star overall rating, and "an 'A' on the product's report card," specifically for ease of installation and deployment, simple policy configuration and overall value.
"The MailGate from Axway provides full email content management, as well as digital rights management and a little bit of policy compliance, all wrapped up into one appliance," said Peter Stephenson of SC Labs, SC Magazine's testing facility for product reviews. "The Axway MailGate offers some solid functionality to protect the enterprise from email threats, as well as added functionality to manage data leakage."
Axway MailGate, a comprehensive, high-performance email security solution, provides multiple tiers of security that block threats such as viruses and other malware both within the network and at the DMZ, and prevents unwanted email and spam from entering the network. Inbound and outbound email is secured at the content and network levels; and accidental and intentional email data leakage that so often threaten brand, reputation, regulatory compliance and intellectual property are prevented via content filtering and intuitive policy controls.
Axway recently announced the launch of MailGate 5.0, which includes enterprise-class features such as gateway-to-gateway policy-based encryption, regulatory compliance lexicons, enhanced digital rights management, archiving capabilities and support for Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6). Additionally, MailGate now allows companies to leverage disaster recovery and high availability capabilities to survive a data or server catastrophe with email intact. Customers can also choose to deploy secure messaging via a powerful user-to-user email encryption platform on the same Linux or VMware box with MailGate, for an all-inclusive email security solution.
"The 'outstanding' rating from SC Labs re-affirms our emphasis on quality and usability in our MailGate solution," said Joe Fisher, executive vice president of product strategy and solutions, Axway. "MailGate's ability to protect organizations from attacks and data loss, and its capabilities around policy and compliance, help to differentiate our customers from their competition. We will continue to evolve the product to meet and exceed the data security needs of enterprises and their customers."
